Be thankful it was "just" a tennis ball. My DD hit me in the side of my beer gut I started to cry.

Better than in the Jewels..

Never got hit there personally... I've had a few dads get it at lessons. For some reason the evil daughters laugh at them.. ;)

If I have an hour on a genuine field, I'd have her working on blocking and throwing down to bases (maybe practice tags at the plate or passed balls) and then I'd have her work a little at third. If she really wants to hit instead, I'd side toss or bring out the tee and have her do long-tee work. It is nice for them to see the distance once in a while instead of just hitting into a net always.

If I have an hour in our yard, we'd play catch and I'd throw her some grounders and try to throw her some fly balls and/or, we'd pull out the sock net and tee and I'd have her hit.

When we only have 15 minutes, it's either catch or TCB balls--during the week we're a lot more likely to have 15 minutes instead of a whole hour.

I'm going to tell my wife that I'm growing the beer gut for protection!

the transition from 'stance' to 'launch' ... is something worth practicing nightly for 10-min/night for 2wks. Can't emphasize enough how getting this portion perfected can lead to a healthy repeatable swing. A suggestion from FFS.
DD has been practicing a knee cock, coil, loading of the hands and striding as a result of the uncoiling, being down and in at toe touch. Also while uncoiling learning to let the hands stay back, stretch/seperation as the hips uncoil, leading the hands.Use a wiffle ball bat with tape on the barrel for added weight. Takes 10 min. in between DD shows or commercial break. Can be done in the house. We work on this along with the outside practice.
