At age 10, worrying about breaking in her bat is splitting hairs. Her bat speed will not be enough until age 13 to begin seeing any difference between broken in vs. not broken in. The biggest thing is make sure she is in the habit of rotating the bat between pitches to lengthen the life of her bat.

My kid breaking in a new bat. The temptation to see how it feels at full speed is too great. No way she is getting through the whole process without taking a full hack on her own.
