Looking at some of the scores, I thought it was a football tournament. 20 to 17. 18 to 16 type scores pretty common. Small strike zones, thin air, 90 degree temps, breeze blowing out, short fences at 200 feet equals lots of HRs. Routine fly balls float like balloons. Seen two that short hopped the 300 foot fence. Pitchers nightmare. Must keep ball down and only throw riseballs out of the zone.

We faced a team out of NM that hit a ridiculous number of HR's. And their bats sounded dead, so either their bats were "suspect" or they were awfully strong for 8th graders. Yes, they made good contact and a few girls had really quick hands, but the way the balls flew off of some of the bats made you pause and think.

My daughter was playing Power Pool at Sparkler after a week of hitting HRs during International Challenge.
Then catching bullpen @ IDT where every player is P5/ 4 Gatorade POY.
The roster is normally 18 but they only had 11 for each team this summer with Team USA camp and some injuries.

What team in the IC was your daughter playing for?
