Dallas, Texas
#1 California outscored #18 Oregon 19-1, but only won 2 of 3.
#2 Alabama won 2 out of 3 from #12 Georgia.
#3 Florida beat Florida International three times.
#4 Arizona State took 3 from #16 Stanford.
#5 Texas took 2 of 3 from Oklahoma State. Texas, once again, is a pretender, not a contender.
#6 Oklahoma took 2 of 3 from #10 Missouri. Missouri has the top pitcher in the US, but the rest of the team doesn't measure up.
#7 Louisiana-Lafayette won three from Florida Atlantic, scoring a whopping 40 runs in 16 innings of play.
#8 Tennessee won three from South Carolina. Looking at the schedule, Tennessee should win all of their games heading into the SEC championship.
#9 Washington dropped 2 of 3 to Oregon State. Huskies should say goodbye to the top 10...
#10 Missouri lost 2 of 3 to Oklahoma.
#11 Louisville swept Seton Hall.
#12 Georgia, as usual, lost two to Alabama. Pat Murphy has Georgia's number.
#13 Arizona won 2 from New Mexico. Does Arizona even belong in the Top 25? Me thinks not.
#14 Hawaii won 2 of 3 at Nevada.
#15 UCLA swept Utah. Speaking of teams that don't belong in the Top 25...
#17 South Florida won 2 of 3 from UConn.
#18 Oregon dropped 2 of 3 to California.
#19 Texas A&M took 2 of 3 from Texas Teach.
#20 Michigan dropped 2 out of 3 to Minnesota.

If you question how important starting pitching is, take a look at Baylor, currently #37.

UNC is in the race, not NC State.

Yep, Mizzou has a TON of freshmen this year. I believe in Coach Earl, though. They'll be back.

That was a great game between OU and MU. Chelsea Thomas and Keilani Ricketts are both awesome. That pitch that Ricketts throws that curves down and in on righties is wicked; it seemed to be basically unhittable. She got so many clutch Ks on that one pitch.

I loved the commentary too. I think my favorite line was when an Oklahoma infielder overthrew first. Mowins started to complain about Ricketts not moving, but either Mendoza or Smith pointed out that the backup was the right fielder's responsibility and that she was the one who had messed up by not backing up the play as she should have. One of them then went into a pithy and droll comment about defense. It went something like... "The three B's. Ball, Base, Backup. You have to be moving on every play. Either you're getting the ball or you have a base or you're backing up. If you aren't, then you're a spectator. You might as well get a hotdog and go sit in the stands."
