Wow. Had a friend in HS who had an ovarian cancer scare. Like jet95 said, makes all the angst seem completely trivial. Wishing them all the best luck and hope the tournament is a huge success.
It was a tough thing to watch a great girl/kid/woman from a great softball family lose after a courageous fight. She was too young to even begin living. All she wanted to do was to get back to school and get on the field and play again. She passed a year after diagnosis. She was 21.
Her HS alma mater holds a game in her honor in the spring and uses it for cancer awareness and fundraising.
So sad! Makes me so glad for the time I've spent with my DD and the times we will get to have. I feel for her family and all of her loved ones. Thanks for posting this.
