I have a new student. Tiny little10U maybe 4-4, with small hands. But very athletically talented with superb body control and physical skill mastery. (gymnast)
picked up the basic mechanics in an unbeleivable short amount of time.

Now she is playing in a 12U league and has to pitch from 40 with 12" ball. Its tough for her to hold the ball and about half way through lesson ( 2 so far) she tires some and ball starts to slip out of her hand especailly when throwing at 40 feet and working hard to get the ball there. been working up from 25 feet over 2 lessons.

switched to 11" ball and few pitches later going much better. So would you keep teaching with 11" for a while then switch to 12". or work 12" till tired then switch to 11 for balance of lesson (45 min lesson) or ???? 12" ball but 35 feet to build strenght and confidence? never had this particular size combination before.... advice?

thanks

her "rec" league starts in 2-3 weeks. First time pitcher, first kid pitch league.
