Little different topic but what do people think about the right-handed hitter step over push bunt. Try to get it past the pitcher and have 1st and 2nd basemen go for the ball. Kinda right handed slap. With today's bats it doesn't take much to bounce past the pitcher.

This seems like a much more effective play in baseball with the bigger fields, 2B playing farther back, pitchers often falling off the mound in a direction (especially lefties who fall toward the third base side).

There just isn't a lot of space in that P, 2B, 1B triangle. If the ball is bunted hard enough, and toward the line enough, to get past the pitcher, this seems like just a regular ol' bunt the 1B should probably field unless your 2B is playing way up for whatever reason.

If your hitter is fast, she's basically trying to beat the 1B to the ball. If she does that, she's probably safe (unless she's not in the runner's lane and an astute 1B flips the ball and grabs an interference call).
