We call it "2 strike hitting" and ALL my teams do it, and have for 15 years.......10U through 18Gold.....

We aren't "showing bunt"........We're "measuring" the contact zone. Similar too a lumber jack measuring the impact point on a tree or log for the first chop stroke........Then we deliever a "measured swing"........Short and sweet........

This move cuts K's down by 75%.........
Can you explain this technique in more detail? How far do they pull back? When do they measure the contact zone? Video?
I see girls do this, but they seem to be late pulling back and their swing is very choppy.

DDs former coach used to call this alot. Used it for some to find rhythm and timing, particularly for those with fear back in 10u; it did help getting them active in the box. Dd became a good bunt threat so she'd get it often again this year, though it was obvious. Was neat when she laid it down anyway.
Lots of contact, but often out of sequence, rushed, and armsy.

Here’s the thing, that is a lot of hand movement.

Everytime dd would do it, I'd get so irritated. All I could think was selfishly what we had worked on all week, not to be used lol.

If the timing is right, that is one thing. If you can get the same launch position every time it’s not horrible. The swings that don’t with this style are horrible.

I think the load could be better. Not a horrible swing. Doesn’t look rushed to bad.

For many they don’t do it that well.
