No college coach has ever asked about a prospect's Bench press max, Dead lift max, push up max, etc. They are inclined to pay closer attention to Attitude and Effort and of course skill set. The next thing they do is turn their eyes toward the stands observing their parents. LOL.
Thousands of coaches have asked "What is your workout program?"

Let's rephrase. If you are building the perfect softball player how far down the list do you have to go before you see "weight training"? It's pretty far down.
My perfect softball player would look a lot like this....a great athlete that made herself an even better athlete by weight training.

What is your idea of utilizing strength training? Are you only thinking about barbells? Arnold Schwarzenegger stuff?

Neat that at atleast you comment that perhaps a beginner to sports might benefit from weights. At least you see at some point a benefit.

Back to develop topic
There are plenty of things all the travel teams do at their speed and conditioning that also include added weights and muscle resistant activities like tossing the big thick shipping rope and using medicine ball. Common that there are tb & hs players who are working with weight racks also.
I consider push-ups a muscle strengthening exercise along with Pull-Ups.
And Using resistant bands.
Could start naming organizations and their facilities that offer em training that also includes these things.
There are so many different machines now for specific muscle groups it's easier to Target areas versus free weights.
