the one we missed was later in the summer, she hit a bomb on a burned up field with no fence......headed into 2nd, she caught her right cleat in her left shoelace, and went airborne......full lay out, 3' in the air.......we have the landing and then her standing up, brushing off gravel lol

funny thing is the ball ran so far (grass was pretty dry) it ran all the way into the next field, she could have jogged home and probably back to first again....

we had a mom who took hundreds every game, then posted to share.......

in photo #2 of the fall sequence, you can see the police tending to a teenager that had hopped the fence and jumped in the pool after hours.......he showed up, they all hopped the fence and scattered (right through our OF)......one chubby kid (we'll call him "pattar" for brevity's sake) got caught on the top of the fence, then fell over it......cut his hand, messed up his leg......the cop had NO intention of getting out of his vehicle, had to get out, tend to him, do all kinds of paperwork, call an ambulance

it was the highlight of my then 8 year old's weekend...."i saw a crime!"

Taunton, etc.......but the truly good stuff always seemed to come from tournies in Lowell

Taunton isn't nearly as bad..or it wasn't 30 years ago.

it's gotten worse, Lowell has actually gotten better......I think Fall River is the same/worse......not too sure about New Bedford, but we had great Portuguese food there after a tourney in Dartmouth

Fall River is worse (I grew up across the river in Swansea and went to Durfee) and yes New Bedford has good Portuguese food.

I had an uncle who lived in Chelmsford...My (13 month younger) sister played at all of these places in the early years of TB in MA in the mid to late 80's..I never went to watch though...lol. Probably the same parks.
