Salazar hit in face during exhibition baseball

I can remember when Rene Lachemann ( third base coach for the Cardinals ) used to stand about 50ft away from the third base coaches box every time Mark McGwire would come to the plate. Nobody ever said anything to him either. Cant imagine getting hit by something he turned on.

Local sports talk this morning: Salazar had surgery Wed and and again Thursday. No brain damage, but multiple facial fractures. They have to wait for the swelling to go down to make a final decision, but there's some concern he may lose his left eye.

Doctors were not able to save Salazar's left eye. He had surgery yesterday to remove it.
