Serious lack of the three B's
Ball, Bag, or Back up! Every single play! Every single player! This is crazy to me that because we throw a label on it and say "its just rec ball" that its acceptable to not teach basic fundamentals. I've coached TB and High School for a number of years but I also will coach my 9 yr old on her rec team. By simply teaching basic batting, defensive skills, and throwing...our 10u program has only lost 4 games in three seasons. Rec ball may only be about fun...but I've never had "fun" while being on the wrong side of a beat down... teach the kids what it takes to win and then reevaluate the fun meter.
