DD, a freshman, played varsity last night for high school fall ball league. It was the last night for fall ball. The team isn't doing so well, not sure what's going on...but they didn't put ANY runs on the board, and the volunteer coach (only way high schools could participate in the high school fall ball leagues was to have volunteer coaches for both JV and Varsity teams...that way the HS coaches could observe from the sidelines) put DD last in the line up thinking she doesn't have what it takes (LONG story...don't want to expose for all to see on a public forum); so as a result, she only got 2 at-bats total (since that made her 11th or 12th batter). Second game, she finally gets her at-bat...works up to full count (pitcher throwing 60s)...DD pounds her very first homerun over left field fence. 
She got the only run on the board the whole night. After that, they put her in to pitch, and while she gave up one run (errors on 3B and 1B)...senior pitcher before her gave up 8 runs, she did pretty well, I thought.
