You are using your smart phone and people are having fun. 
As you saw from my post I agree with you. The reason I mention DD’s speed is the catcher can still get in position after she starts her downward motion. I do not have experience with this but I think if the pitcher is throwing in the 60s it might be hard for the C to start in a neutral position.
It sounds like you have experience coaches, I think I would listen to them.
