in 12u Looks like the Cal As welcomed their sisters from Idaho nicely. And Texas got a big Howdy from the Angels.

Big 1st round game this afternoon between Beverly Bandits Conroy and OC Batbusters Haning. One of the pre-draw favorites is going to the losers bracket early.

Is that based on pool play results, seeding, or just luck of the draw?

Blind draw. One of those two great teams is going to have a really long road through the loser's bracket.

OCBB batting with 4-0 lead in bottom of 5th inning. They scored 2 in the 1st and 2 in the 2nd.

Pitchers are Bandit's Taran Alvelo (2015 U-WA) and OCBB's Taylor McQuillin (2015 U-AZ).

Bandits did and amazing job fighting back for a 3rd place finish. Lost 3-0 to Corona Angels in final game of their loser's bracket.

I agree - the Bandits streak of 8 wins in the losers bracket was very impressive, especially when you factor in the teams they beat. It looks like they rode 2 pitchers, however their stats are messed up because they didn't update their roster on the PGF website.

Bandits actually won losers bracket B and needed to beat Corona Angels twice to advance to the championship game and a rematch gainst OCBB Haning. PGF's format is similar to WCWS - they split the teams into 2 double elimination brackets and the teams that emerge from the losers brackets cross over to face the undefeated team in the other bracket. The 2 bracket winners face off in the televised championship game.

BTW, OCBB Haning beat Corona Angels 3-0 for the title. So Cal A's were the other 3rd place team.
