To answer the OP's original question, Karen Linder, who recently retired as Kent States head coach used to hold a coaches recruiting session each year. She told us every year that the girls who worked hard and advanced each year, not only made the travel line-up, but she would increase their athletic scholarship money each year even if they weren't in the starting positions. The way she broke it down was she carried 22 players for the team and had 12 scholarships to give. If she needed a top notch pitcher, they would receive a full AS. She carried three which left 9 to distribute among the rest. If she found a catcher with a big stick, she may, and I repeat may give her a full scholarship as well. That would leave approximately 7.5 AS to distribute among the remaining 17 since the back-up catcher would get the other half. Depending upon how hard the others worked to achieve a starting position by their senior year, she would increase their moneys accordingly and distribute the rest among the incoming Freshman she recruited. So yes, it's possible but unless you had it in writing in the NLI, it's not guaranteed as others have posted.
