Playing with new toy today. DD overhand throw 41-44mph. Underhand fb 45-47. Walk thru 47-49. She is a pitcher. I'm thinking we need to work on her overhand.

I'm thinking we need to work on her overhand.

That is what I tell 100% of the posters. Everything else will improve, if overhand throw is perfect. We have to work at it so much more than boys. I rarely see a "natural" girl, while I have coached many natural throw boys.

I would guess her body is not helping her enough on her overhand throw, I agree it is worth working on.

I know DD will step down the power line pitching, she steps a little sideways when playing the field.

I wish I could get video posted. Im technically challenged.

When doing longtoss overhand she maxes out at 110ft. I'm always worried we are gonna throw too much. Pitching 2-4 days a week then add longtoss in once or twice a week?

Could we do longtoss overhand and pitching practice on same days? Or is that too much.

11 yo 4'10" 90lbs. This time last year a guy gunned her pitching 44-45mph. In summer she topped out at 48mph with small ball. She has been pitching 12" ball for 3 mths. In 2 yrs she's grown 1" and gained 10lbs.

Gonna start distance pitching 1 day a week and pitching underweight balls (5oz 6oz) 1 day a week.

5oz softball. She could throw 50mph today.

Think how much we played as youngsters without someone telling us "No." As long as she wants to throw, I would do it. At 11, she is on the cusp of being able to work a little longer. Throw in a day of rest or hitting, once or twice a week and I bet she is fine.
