once a team is picked from tryouts 13 kids total is it normal for other kids in organization to be added to the team mid fall season? older team fell apart and younger players were placed on team.

Fall ball is basically a developmental situation for the team to come the following spring. If adjustments need to be made to the team, this is the time to do it. If one team fell apart, at least those who stayed can still play

It will vary some from team to team, but it is not uncommon in TB for coaches to be constantly looking for a player (or players) that are an upgrade.

There are no set rules. Each team is different and this possibility probably should have been discussed beforehand.

Also, that discussion isn't necessarily the responsibility of the coach. If folks don't ask questions, they rarely get answers.

Depends on the expectations that the coach set up front. Adding players is common at the older age groups and higher level TB, but you need to be leery of younger developmental teams that add a lot of players and cut down on playing time.

when head coach is changed so did the direction and rules. its seems decision get made and then parents are informed about them. first meeting expectations were discussed with parents but seem to have gone astray as season progressed. Almost total different direction.

Nothing is "normal" but it happens all the time! You as a parent are expected to be faithful to your team-no greener pastures for you, no second guessing, etc. However, it is perfectly acceptable that the coaches are always looking for better players, always recruiting, and will cut your daughter at any time, should they decide she is no longer needed. Hang on, the roller coaster is just beginning!

3k for a 10U team? Sounds totally insane to me. My dds new team (first year 16) is 850 total, and we have several fundraisers that can go towards that total.

If you are not happy with the direction the team is headed you and your DD can explore your options to switch teams after the fall season is over.

Thanks for the feed back. we decided to leave the team and explore other options. Just got tired of the "we got this" attitude.
