For drop movement shouldn't the dot be on the side and not visible regardless of the axis tilt? If you can see the dot then you have semi bullet spin and no drop.
Yes. The video above is part of a spin awareness demo. Once kids (parents/catchers) know what to look for, they can learn how to manipulate the spin. I ask kids to learn how to steer the axis to either side of perpendicular (and even beyond.)

They start up close then move back and increase effort until they can get axis left, right and perpendicular every time. Along the way, try to throw as many as you can at each distance with perpendicular axis (drop.)

The goal is to consistently throw perfect axis at full distance AND have the awareness of how to make the correction if the axis turns.
