Runners on 1st and 3rd. Runner on 1st on the base, runner on 3rd with a large lead when the catcher returns the ball to the pitcher after a pitch. Pitcher does a hard fake to third. Runner on 3rd dives back to the base. Seeing the fake, runner on 1st breaks for 2nd, takes 2-3 steps, realizes the ball wasn't actually thrown and stops. Umpire immediately calls her out.
I suppose the look back rule was immediately back in effect once the pitcher's arm stopped moving from the fake throw but I would have expected the umpire to give the runner a second or two to figure out that the pitcher still had the ball?
