Too many tournament have too many mismatched teams to play 7 innings and still figure out a workable schedule. Add in coaches who learned from how the Yankees play MLB and these games can go WAY too long.

I like the mixed approach - timed games in pool and early bracket and then no-time-limit finals(occasionally semi-finals as well)

You guys have me laughing now. I just drew a mental picture of the umpire who starts at noon and is still there after midnight!
