...at 5:00 AM and i noticed the sky was clear and the constellation Orion was prominent. The thing I hadn't noticed was that Orion is not the hunter but is actually a Softball pitcher!
Go figure! If you live in the northeast and get up early enough, check it out for yourself!
Usually at 5:00 am I'm stumbling in the door blurry-eyed and stupified enough that it's dangerous to try and stand still to look at the stars, much less walk and think about something.
Just so you know, I beefed up the main stars in the photo to make the constellation more easily seen. When looking at the constellation in the night sky, the stars at the head, the ball and the glove are more faint than the other stars. also the pitching shoulder (Betelgeuse) looks more yellowish and the front knee (Rigel) looks more blue-ish in color than the other stars.
