Soon to be 14U DD has several flaws in her swing that I want to work with her on over the winter, lower half over strides and dips, not enough front side resistance, top half has poor follow through with early wrist roll, hits off the ball of the foot of front leg . . . .

So the question is, do you start with bottom half, top half, or work to correct both at the same time?

When I first started working with my DD I was a firm believer in separating the bottom half and the top half. And to a certain extent, I still do at times... However, as I am learning more about the swing (and I continue to learn), I have changed my opinion and now typically work on both together. In my opinion, introducing a good sequence can often correct swing flaws in both halves. Specifically creating the proper stretch before barrel launch.
