Question about eligibility. We have a 16 year old player. She was homeschooled and got her high school diploma at the age of 16 (February 2023). In August of this year (2023) she is starting at a local community college where she will be playing softball. The school is a NJCAA MDJUCO Div II school. Once her community college season is over (May 2024), she is planning on joining our team.

I have searched the USA and USSSA player eligibility rules and can't find anything regarding this.

1. Can someone who has played NJCAA play on a 16B USA or USSSA team?
2. If they do play, does this in anyway affect their NJCAA eligibility?

I have seen plenty of NCAA player continue to play USSSA after their freshman year of college, but usually they are on 18U A/B/Open teams.

Thanks,

She sounds like a remarkable young girl attending college at 16 and playing against college players. Kudos to her.

The only sanctioning body that I know of who excludes college players is PGF. You should have no problems with any of the other sanctioning bodies.
