You can use a multi position tee or I like using a plate and placing a tee on top of it. You start off with the tee dead center and hit it up the middle then you can move the tee forward in front of the plate and inside to simulate hitting it out front.

For the outside pitch we like to teach our girls to hit it away, so we set the plate slightly back from center and away and teach the girls to drive the ball toward right center.

You can also soft toss inside and outside.

Tee work is great but for my monies nothing beats front toss for learning how to get behind an inside low and outside low pitch IMHO. Ten feet away is all you need and depending on the skill level you can stay with outside low for awhile on a work day or fix it day. Then you can hit all zones pretty accurately for a rhythm day. Not only that they can work on timing from here as well.

Kudos to LongBall. A pitching screen from 10-12' works wonders.
Be careful they do not habitually crowd the plate for outside pitches as the
better TB pitchers will always throw high and tight to move them
out of this comfort zone. 12U is the ideal age for starting to teach
hitters to 'go with the pitch' Now in 14U I have a few batters that look for
a hole in the OFdefense and are very good at hitting to the hole.

In addition to the tee work and front toss described above the hit stick is good tool for demonstrating the best place to hit different type of pitches.
