Hello

I am new to the site and just wanted to offer up my services to anyone looking for help. I coached at the college level but now I basically run defensive camps for area colleges and high schools. I have noticed there is some very good information on here but not so much about defense, which as we know often gets overlooked! I would love to help/ exchange ideas in regards to defense and pitching.

On throws to 3rd from the catcher.

I have my 3rd baseman play facing the dugout in front of the bag ready to catch and run FORWARD. If this is done properly the mickey mouse base running at 10 and 12u can be stopped, you know the one where the take a lead down the line, wait for the throw behind and then take off...I teach my third baseman to catch on the run and play up on the runner. I tell them to flat out forget about the bag and read the runner. If i'm standing on third and the runner is half way home! IM DONE!
