Broken Handle Prism

During my DDs game I saw a prism break on the handle. Not on the connection but the actual handle broke in two. Is this common? It happened on a fast inside pitch. The result of the play was a weak ground out. I have included a pic of the on deck batter picking up the bat. She is actually spinning it around. It is hanging on by the grip tape. I have no clue of the history of the bat.

I've not seen one break like that so it makes me wonder about how it had been treated in the past and if subsequently, there was a weak spot on the handle..

Don't buy that bat, all it does is break.

From my understanding the bat model is known to be pretty durable, but any bat can break. The only reason why I put the brand name is keep the Ghost out of it.
