I was going to add the same, @Comp (though I admit I didn't know there was a U-Trip exception . . . but of course there is).

From my look back on the thread, I am assuming (yeah, we know what that does) the OP was referring to generally keeping a bat stored at temperature as opposed to heating them up in a game. Assuming.
Correct in the assumption!

My advice, go get an Anderson Rocketech double wall alloy. Performs much like a composite but much more durable for the cold weather. HS season brings ridiculous cold weather practices and games for my DD in IL, so our personal rule is that she uses the alloy if temps are below 50 degrees in the Spring or Fall.

Cold composite certainly is more brittle but the biggest issue is actually the cold hard softball. Can even bust a decently warm composite.
