No doubt you get more consistent readings when the one throwing the ball hits their spot and there is little glove movement. I mainly use mine to see increase trends in speed.
We have both (got the regular one at a clearance for $4) and the only thing she noticed different was the neck seemed a little higher on the regular one vs the razorback. I took some scissors and cut it and shes good to go.
I use it on a catchers mitt and get pretty consistent results. No worse with the catchers mitt vs regular glove. Sometimes when you move the glove a good bit to catch a pitch the reading is not correct. However, straight into the glove it get pretty consistent readings. I have checked it...
I have found that nothing is in stone until money (team commitment fee) has changed hands. Until then, its just an offer to play. We gave each offer 1 week to commit once the offer had been given. After one week the offer to join the team was no longer valid unless an extension was granted.
I'm no expert, just another bucket dad, but he seems to falling off balance pretty bad. I would make him work on a power line without a ball to work on that balance (falling off to the side). I might even put him on a long board to make him stay centered down the power line.
I agree with everyone that it's just too early to tell based on 1 tournament. Sometimes as a coach you try something and it doesn't work. Sometimes you change things up to get a spark. You could probably pole different coaches and each would have a different lineup philosophy. IMO...a player...
We start hydration (water only) on Wednesday before a weekend tournament. I tell my girls that I want to see them urinating in the 9X's per day (Thursday & Friday) before the tournament. Sports drinks are to only be consumed after a game. We play in TN where it is not uncommon for temps to be...

I guess we are going to have to disagree that "leaping" allows a player to "gain an advantage" at the 10U level and that being unsportsman like. I would probably agree with this statement if these were older girls. All 10U girls are learning to pitch. It's one thing to pitch in practice, but...
My DD got called for IP (leaping) in the championship game of our 10U state championship at the end of June. Both me and her new pitching coach was aware of it and had been working on it, but we had NEVER been called for it. DD was by far the most dominate pitcher in our age group playing in...
Our 10U team practiced 2X per week as a team. Each individual had hitting practice 1X per week and the pitchers and catchers better be pitching and catching on their own multiple times each week.
I totally agree with this. My DD had "everything" wrong so we basically started from scratch. We started with feet and worked up. Once she had a basic idea of what her legs were supposed to do, we then worked on on the upper.
My DD really struggled with "big squish" and feeling the sequence when we started making swing changes at age 9. This drill was the best one we did that helped her get the feel of not squishing the bug. Tell her to actually throw the bat down right baseline.

Wow, this thread definitely hits home for me. I coach a 10U girls TB team and yes we see lots of tears from time to time. I'm a man and I don't understand it, but it is what it is. My daughter is one of our pitchers and a solid pitcher at that, but she does wear her emotions on her sleeve...
I don't even like those stupid cheers the girls do. I wish my girls would stay silent and just do exactly as I say....yep...living in a dream world. I give it a classless vote as well.
You would never know my daughter had it own under her jersey. It is not bulky at all and it molds to your daughter's shape. It's just something they have to get used to. My daughter never complained about wearing one and will not play in a game without it. She has never complained that the...
Do you think that showing the bat actually helps them do it more consistently? I've seen some in 10U recently. More of like a fad than anything because at the young age they look like they never get back to a good hitting position and then they can't get the bat on it fast enough.
This would be the VERY first thing I went out and purchased. My daughter wears the front and back EvoShield and I have even considered the elbow guard. She is not a big girl (10U) but absolutely has all the confidence in the world because she knows her ribs, chest and back are all protected...
