Spot on, but there is a little more to the mechanics.

    Jordy Bahl Change up

My DD learned this change up from her pitching coach at Powerhouse Mechanics. They have videos on it on it on their IG. Definitely not a flip change. Hard to learn but it's wicked once you get it down.

    Pitcher hopping

In my experience, they only call it if there is a signifanct competitive advantage going on with a crowhop. Leaping in my sanction is now legal. My DD used to get called on leaping all the time, but it was usually because of a huge divot infrot of the pitching plate. Unless a pitcher is crow...

    Explicit Walk Up Music

I don't think umpires should have to worry about the type of music being played, only if it's still being played when the batter is in the box. There are no official rules to walk up music (unless tournament made rules for it) just music ettiquite, which people tend to not follow, but umpires...

The value of the right pitching coach

I completely agree with the statement that who your daughter trains with matters. It's also important to find someone that resonates and connects with your DD. Sometimes a girl can "graduate" from current coach and need more advanced training. There is an abundance of pitching coaches where I...

Umpire not calling the game by the rules and no protests

Saw this, clicked the link. Every sport except softball was there. Go figure lol

So you decided to get a hitting instructor

My DD was 10 when we got her a hitting coach. He's been coaching softball for over 30 years and does a phenomenal job. She saw him weekly at first but now its way more sparing. She actually hasn't been in a while because she doesn't need it at the moment. I coach her team and also give hitting...

Umpire not calling the game by the rules and no protests

He knew the rule, didn't call it by the book thus making up rules. I didnt say anything that wasn't true and I wasn't snarky about it. Sucks to suck.

Umpire not calling the game by the rules and no protests

USA Softball, where the umps actually get paid unlike LL. In all age groups yes the correct call is the runner is out. LMAO, i said it very nicely but pointed out my understanding of what he said to me. Wouldn't have said it if I got a "hey you know what, i totally blew that call. It's my last...

Umpire not calling the game by the rules and no protests

I posted before I saw the edit :) Im never an advocate for verbally abusing umpires. Its never ok. I am an advocate for umpires calling games by the rules and not giving freebees in tournaments because they feel bad or have some vendetta.

Umpire not calling the game by the rules and no protests

Lot of people in the restaurant industry use it as a second job. I would know. I used to be one of them :)

Umpire not calling the game by the rules and no protests

I did accept the line up so ill accept that. Lesson learned. Of course I discuessed it when it happened. The runner happened to get on base which is why I discussed it. And yes I know what happens if I dont bring it up at the time it happens. Of course i went back out to discuss. Yes we reviewed...

Umpire not calling the game by the rules and no protests

Kind of like if you worked at a Ice Cream shop and a parent came in with their kid. They are not paying your wages directly, the shop owner does. But they are still the customer. Without the kids, there is no youth softball, and without their parents paying for them to play, there is no umpires...
