Obviously I see the play very differently than he did/does and I wanted to get other people's thoughts so I could be sure it wasn't my biases coming through.

Might want to check the rules. USA Softball Rule 8-F-5: "The batter-runner is out when the batter-runner interferes with (a fielder) by discarding their bat in a manner that prevents the defense from making a play on the ball"

Just Gloves has a HoH Softball catcher's mitt. It is 33" though and has rose gold binding (which according to DD definitely makes it awesome).

I would go with the Rocketech, but can't justify the cost for less than a dozen games this year. October in New England can be so hit or miss with the weather. Just wasn't sure if the extra $60 is justified for the StringKing.
