after three fall league games in outfield already but is having fun so far.
So the daughter is getting some pitching time and playing time, but in the Outfield. Look at this, its a pretty important part right here it says
➡️ is having fun so far.

This entire situation is basically a reflection of three games. 🤷‍♀️

Why am I not surprised how some people who don't even see what the players look like are making a suggestion to leave without even having a conversation with the coach.

sure but there are enough red flags to start considering if the wrong choice was made, and better to rectify it earlier than later.

One inning in 4 games is hardly “pitching time” btw in that game no hits or runs. I agree that I wouldn’t leave without a conversation with the coach. Was really looking to see if this is a usual scenario with younger girls and use the combined knowledge of the community for advice. I appreciate yours!

Because we've been through this personally and with our friends' kids so many times. It rarely changes. Talking to coaches rarely changes anything. They tell you what you want to hear but nothing changes. There are dozens of teams out there that need pitching and corner help. There's a team where she can get the playing time she wants at the positions she wants.

When it's your own kids, and there's so few seasons, it's just sad to waste one.

Sure, talk to the coach first. Give it a few more games. It's worth trying. And this poster seems that they'll do just that. But also, know that it rarely changes and trust your gut. Your gut is usually right.

This guy and his wife played at the highest levels. His posts are sincere and honest. Heck, i trust his gut on this one. :p

By having the conversation with the coach sends a reminder of what was promised before the season started and what has actually transpired. This will give the coach an opportunity to explain what is going on and what will happen. Maybe there will be change. Maybe not. Sounds like the coach is lazy and only wants to work with the older players. Who knows?

Since the OP is the NE, the fall season will be coming to an end in few weeks. Ride out the fall commitment and start fresh with the new team come January if leaving is the only option.

How long is left in the season? Around me teams have tryouts for their spring/summer teams in mid November. Assuming there are only a couple weeks left in the season, I would give it the rest of the season and look elsewhere for the spring. Practicing a couple times with the other team is a good suggestion.

In general my advice is to give the coach 3-5 games before coming to any conclusions about playing time. If you have had a lot of rainouts that likely has messed up the coach’s plans. Not unreasonable to pitch the two older pitchers and give an inning to the younger pitchers for the first few games. Outfield gets important in 12u.

If your DD is a pitcher, she needs to find a team where she gets at least 30pct of the innings, preferably half. Coaches dilemma is they need 2.5 to 3.5 pitchers for their team, but it’s difficult to keep more than 2 pitchers happy, especially only playing 1 or 2 games a week.

Is the player a 5th grader first year 12u or a sixth grader?
What is the age composition of the team? You mentioned older players, a lot of second year 7th graders?
