The hands and belly button going back while the hips start to go forward is when disassociation happens early. The hips breaking away from an active stride gives you stretch and core contraction capabilities when you want. There are many ways to get forward yet. I have explained but one. I know of two or three. The hinge and the back knee are the others I know of. It’s style imo. But you gotta get FYB if you’re gonna have a chance to adjust and hit multiple pitches/speeds.

Look at the cadence of his strides. The length might be the same or not. But the timing(s) are different. The stride initiates launch.

4:30ish mark.

Set sooner, what does he mean by that? That's open for interpretation. Balanced better, without a doubt, but I don't what he is referring to as balanced or at least what he determines as being balanced and how he makes that happen. Each one of us could claim those are things we all are looking to achieve in a general sense, imo.

I think he means get to your spot. It’s really not lost in translation CL. He says ‘ the way we get set sooner OR the way we’re in a better balanced position OR a balance point IN hitting is just a little more advanced than other guys.’ To me that means he is to THE spot where the pitch dictates when he needs to hit it. I truly think that’s what hitting is. Time is the variable and Barry and others have said that is the key to their success.

I don’t see any other way to interpret that. What is your interpretation?

I emphasized ‘IN’ bc he’s letting folks know that it’s during the act of swinging a bat that he means he is balancing his swing through multiple positions. Whatever the pitch calls for.
