Is it possible that the coach instructed the pitcher to throw a high pass ball to induce a steal of home attempt and the pitcher missed? I saw the catcher leave her position early, maybe in anticipation of an intentional passed ball.

Based on the umpires "walking off the field", I would say NO!

Oh rhetorical sarcasm, ok then i withdraw the question. I have never seen that happen before in a game so i was shocked to think a coach(and his players) would do that. Crazy crazy people out there.
