I've been a pitcher for over 40 years (OMG, I just realized 40 years!!!) I used to laugh at the old people who'd post that sort of stuff... lol.

I've never found anything to replicate game situations except games. Everyone is different and everyone reacts to things differently. But, games are games. It's very hard to replicate and create pressure situations without the actual pressure. Scrimmages are ok, still not the same thing. Trying to do simulated games where I pitched against my own teammates are not the same thing... the hitters know the pitcher, the pitcher knows the hitters, there's usually smiles, laughter, and the opposite of pressure.

I'd recommend scheduling games. Don't call them friendlies. Don't call them scrimmages. Tell them they are games. Tell them they are qualifiers for the world championship... whatever it takes. Tell her National team coaches are watching via YouTube or Facebook live. ANYTHING.

Just one guy's opinion.
