I am sure I know this but just in case since I was told by my head coach that I am wrong..

Player A is pitching and hitting
Player B is on the bench

Player B comes in for Player A to pitch and hit and Player A is now out of the game

Can Player A come in again for anyone or just Player B

She has to go back to her original spot in the line up. It doesn't matter where anyone goes on the field.

We have a winner. Player A can return to the line up for anyone as long as that "anyone" is occupying the same spot in the batting order previously occupied by Player A

so Player A can't replace Player C if Player C is in a different spot in the lineup only any player that is in the spot she originally occupied!!

HS Rule:

"Any player, starter or substitute may be withdrawn from the game
and re-entered once, provided such player occupies the same batting position
whenever in the lineup. A starter and any substitute for a starter may not be in the
game at the same time. A violation results in illegal substitution."

Player A can replace B in the line up. Or player C can replace B in the line up, and then later A can replace C, since they are all tied to the same slot in the batting order.
