Last weekend we had a situation that I had to make a decision on scoring and wondered what the thoughts from the group were.
We had a runner on second and the coach called for a sac bunt. The batter lays down a great bunt down the third base line. Third base charges and gets there quickly but lets it roll hoping it would go foul. If she would have picked it up, she would have thrown the batter out by 15 feet. The ball settles on the chalk and we end up with runner on third and first, both safe. I scored it as a "Sac Bunt Safe" on fielder's choice in game changer since the intent was a sacrifice and she only reached because the fielder chose not to attempt.
Of course a couple of minutes later I had a parent asking why I scored it that way. I explained and they seemed to be OK with it but I wanted to see what you guys thought.
