So my take as I just saw this thread:
Yes, crowhop - but second hop is not illegal as ball is already released. Actually see several pitchers do this when they throw a screw or rise.
Pitch got the outside corner.
Slapper pulled off toward 1B too soon, hence the swing and miss. Depending on what she was trying to do with the ball once she made contact, swing can look pretty ugly and still be good. Slapper needs to keep going straight towards the pitcher until contact with the ball is made.
