Is the game played differently (pitchers, strategy, lineups, stealing, etc..) with teams from the east/north vs west/south? I know each team plays to their strengths, but weather can influence your strategy and thus you may have different priorities.

I coach HS and we play in the spring (mid Mar-beginning of June). Game time temp for the first 5-10 games is between 40-45, and we have played while it was snowing. Not a blizzard, but snowing non-the less.

Hmmm...good question!
Reflecting teams comming and playing in calif~
Can share notice now there is more competition from multiple states.
Out of state team winning pgf made a statement.
Have seen very well groomed teams from the Midwest and Texas.
Pitching more technical to follow, remember a trend for a chunk of years more drop baller from east/midwest
Than riser's here west coast.
That has changed pitch selection seems similar now.
Other than those pitching notations.
No real notations on defensive strategy differences.
Those seem to be more coach to coach than coast to coast.

Notice more variety of size on west coast teams.

( also more variety of teams tho also)
Midwest used to notice taller more stout players.
Texas mixture of size.

We can see from the college performances the talent shift.
This has probably grown attention to the sport in those states.

It may be worth mentioning that 25'ish years ago
MULTIPLE calif softball players took on HC jobs. MANY spread out thru the Nation to Head Coaching College programs!
Several are still coaching,
Can see them Routinely on espn.
Thinking about this the list is actually still extensive!
