other then the drop weight what is the difference between a slow pitch and fast pitch bats?

Nothing. With slow pitch end loaded tends to be more of the norm, and not the exception.

I think if there is an ASA stamp on it, it can be used for either slow or fastpitch.

Some of the teams in the WCWS were using slow pitch bats.
