Poll: Rec or select?

it depends on a lot. I, personally, perfer travel. i play for 5 teams and each team has a different atmosphere. rec ball has much more simpler practices. When i go there i use it mainly for perfecting and tweeking the minor things. When i go to travel everything is different. Travel is only for the dedicated. And if she's not dedicated enough, it will show in her playing. travel also makes a good player better. But if her heart is not into it, then no. But ask the travel coach if it's possible for her to go to a practice with them. Then discuss the pros and cons of each team with her and let her decide.

If she can make the select team, go for it.

Agreed that she'll face much better competition in 10u select than 12-14u rec.

She'll progress faster there than in rec, even with the older girls.

after not-as-much-discussion-as-I-thought-we'd-need...DD wants to go for the 10U select.
I'm very happy about this, but wanted her to make the decision...
