pitching batting practice

I don't use my pitchers to pitch batting practice. That is the coach's job.

It can be productive for both. First time through the lineup have the pitchers throw change ups and drops only. Second time through curve balls and fastballs etc. Don't tell the batters the pitches of choice.

If it's a live situation and the pitcher is competing at 100% against the hitter I like it. If the pitcher is just groving meatballs over the plate I think it's counterproductive!

ALSO, coaches should understand that pitchers should go through their warm-up routine.
