The issue is most poeple keeping the books have no idea what the rules are , for a FC ROE, or Defense Indiffernce( SB's). Few even know where to even find them. I have the ATEC rule book that I train our stats keeper on with our books. We kind of beat this up last year about this time on this site. I asgree 100% with Greenmonsters on his post and most college coaches do and look at ROE's.
If the SS know the kid is 2.7 to first base they tend to hurry the throw and make more errors against that person. Example my dd has always lead any team she played on in ROE's. A very good college coach watched her and said , we look to see if she is getting on base anyway she can, because she also lead the team in run scored and SB. When they have contacted us for stats they asked for the ROE's. Those that can produce them they know the BA is inflated.
