trivia nights and bbq's are getting popular around here (MO - STL area). i've heard you can clear quite a bit of money with these.

Similar to Tex -
We regularly do a 1 day 5 team invitational (we pick similarly matched teams) round robin. We don't charge any entry fee pay umpires at the plate - charge parents at gate $5 - have concessions. Every one of these has netted around $1500 and they are fun to do. We use local school and rec fields - they don't charge us.

I'm exploring the idea of a "midnight madness" round robin (start at dark - play all night). Having local church praise band play for girls during tourney - have fireworks, etc.

Not sure what your budget needs may be? If you have a large or small budget, here are the 3 and only three we use for the higher end budget at our orgnazation and we were a 14u team. budget of $26000.00< last year. Mind you we did pay for the parents hotels in Neb. Cat experance a 6 days. Card parties, (up to you what you play). Team banner 16,000.00< with this you need to pound the sidewalks for sponcers (bets the heck out of bottle drives). #3 car washes, each wash (4) we made on a crapy day $654 best day was well over 1100. Got to have a great location in a high rent district.

Disclaimer this is a sugggestion check your regs:

1. Make up a football pool with 100 squares for local college football team.
2. Sell each number for $10 = $1000 sales.
3. Pay out $25 a game (13 games) so the team makes $500.

These can be sold very quickly and easily but again may want to check your area.
