Not really a softball question but anyone been to or live in Chattanooga? If so, what are some things to do there...I know it's scenic but recommendations for places to stay or things to see. Thank you
First, if you're playing at The Summit, you'll have a blast. My dd played there several times and we loved it each time. Go see Lookout Mountain. It is historic and was important during the Civil War. You are not that far from the Chickamauga Battlefield. There is a "white water" experience, I believe on kayaks that you can pay to do but I think that it is expensive. I am sure that there is a tourist bureau you can contact.
Chattanooga has some cool off the beaten path places to visit. Kinda depends on what you're into. Agree that Lookout Mountain is worth a visit. For breakfast I like Aretha Frankensteins. It's small inside, so if the weather isn't nice, get there early to get an inside table. The Purple Daisy Picnic Cafe is pretty cool also.
The DD is a 2024 UTC commit so we have frequented Chattanooga many times over the past few years. Favorite place to stay is any hotel downtown - close to the river (Hampton Inn has a bar in the lobby ). So much to see and do within walking distance. Besides Lookout Mountain and Ruby Falls, there is also the incline railway and hiking trails everywhere. If you are willing to drive an hour, the Lost Sea is different - a "lake" inside of a cave. Some fun places to eat are the Mellow Mushroom (pizza) & cupcake kitchen (travel team loves it as well). Lots of great restaurant choices for a city of its size...you really can't go wrong. Some favorites are Scotties on the River, the Feed, and Boathouse.
