I'm sorry I haven't been on here much over...well pretty much the summer. I've been rehabbing my injured arm and have been doing a lot of traveling and been hanging out with friends at the pool or at the Jersey Shore (not the town in PA but the beaches in New Jersey), Rehoboth Beach/Ocean City area or taking in a Phillies/Iron Birds/Shorebirds/Orioles games. Also went on a cruise earlier this month as well. But, I digress.
So, I had an appointment two weeks ago with my orthopedist, and...I'm cleared to play again. I'm so excited to play again . I met my new softball coach and she's great. We've had two sessions already and she says I'm progressing nicely. I'm still working on getting my power back. I can throw the ball as hard as I always have been. I can drive the ball to the gaps or down the line. But...it seems I don't have the homerun swing that I had prior to the injury. But I think that will come in time. My coach that I'm working with wants to give me my first taste of in-game action since May as she's the coach of a rec league team in the area. I'm pretty much playing as a guest since her catcher is down. I'm glad for the opportunity since there isn't any pressure to preform before the school year starts on September 1 and field hockey season starts.
But I want to thank you guys from the bottom of my heart for being with me, encouraging me through my injury and for allowing me to put my injury journey out there. It wasn't an easy journey to go through and it drove me nuts watching from the sidelines all summer when I wanted to be with my cousins playing softball in Florida. But thank you guys for reading my updates and commenting. It means the world to me being in this tight knit community no matter the squabbles and personal differences we may have as a community. Thanks
