Hey, if you think the hockey style masks are made to be repeatedly taken off during a game then more power to you. Would you have posted anything if the 3B was the player that took an elbow to the side of the head and had to leave the game? Miscommunication happens and a player gets hurt.- Lenski

That's not why they were designed. They were designed to protect the entire head from bat "wrap around" when catching.....nothing more. The mask and cap system does not sufficiently protect the sides and back of the head.- Lenski

My dd's personal catcher's mitt is a custom Capire full kip leather. It is a very light mitt. If the finger stalls were mesh you probably would not notice the weight difference. My dd's catcher's mitt given by her school and that she has to use in the field during games is a Louisville...- Lenski

The first gloves I remember utilizing mesh was Franklin. They were youth gloves and they were very cheap....because they were cheaply made foreign crap and didn't last very long. USA, USA, USA!!! The ASA rebrand...
PGF is less than 10 years old. Their model was to take a top-down approach. They took a huge chunk out of the ASA/USA nationals right from the start. They carved out regions, offering Futures, Showcases, Regional and National qualifiers, etc. Next will be rec leagues. Time will tell whether...- Lenski
