The outlook is not good on the evoshield. My older daughter liked the Mizunos. And my younger one has the boombahs. Seems as they become young women the sizing and fit can really get wonky. The team had youth and women’s sizes to try on. My DD really preferred the tighter fit of the options and...
I read some reviews on their site and this was the feedback. Fingers crossed. Wishing we could just do solid color and find the best fit. But they’ve got pinstripes!

I wondered about these. Now I don’t have to anymore lol. My DD is hating softball pants right now because she’s struggles to find a pair that fits comfortably. Her new team is getting Wilson/evoshield brand. Hope they fit her well…

As a parent with 2 pitchers I’ve seen just how effective changing out a pitcher can OR cannot be -even if the current pitcher is doing fine.
Also, once a team gets through the lineup and have all seen a pitcher, they’re likely to be more prepared the second time up.
My younger DD is more...
That sucks. Especially if she has friends on the team she’s close with. She could still definitely get on a team. Facebook softball groups constantly post needs. Also you could post for her and she could get some opportunities to play.

Thanks all. We did find a team. We tried out for several teams and we are looking forward to this upcoming season and climbing the ladder again- Developing, learning, having fun, creating new connections and moving closer to the goal of college play!

Thanks all. I guess we will try and go swing a few. Local batting cages have a few of these bats as demos. I think for her, if she picks it, she will be more confident.

Hey all,
Seems like many of the 2025 bats will be coming out or already are out-and that means previous year models are getting some discounts. Shopping for my 14u slapper/contact hitter. I’ve been eyeing the whisper, xeno, and the lxts.
I’ve been pushing her to use the pwrcrbn she has but...
We have only seen 1 team charge this year. $25. To be fair-indoor facility for tryouts and I imagine it cuts down on no-shows or people who sign up but aren’t really sure they’ll make it to the tryout.

As long as they get them out on the base path or leave standing there…. Not only is it okay sometimes it’s necessary.

I have left this one alone for awhile but finally I’ll chime in. There’s too many variables to talk about a k/BB metric for pitching. What level are they playing, what age, what are the teams they’re playing like? Where’s the umps strike zone? How good is the catcher?
My advice to my 14u is...
I watched the videos before reading the whole thread and the advice here seems to be spot on with what my kids’ pitching coach would say. Both my girls use a “flapper” (link below) it’s a strap that goes around their throwing side leg and they have to hit it on the backswing, the forward swing...
It’s taken me months of going to lessons with my girls to understand mechanics on a basic level at best. My younger kid started before my older kid with pitching so we always did the real basics. 6,12 o’clock tosses is about it for like a year. Now we do heel pop rear foot and 45 front foot with...
This is our second time attending a nationals tournament.
The tournament overall seemed to go smoothly. Bad weather screwed up day 1 of skills contests and the parade for the girls. Due to this, 1 field was dedicated to the HR derby and Skills portion the next day which forced them to cancel 1...
Can anyone agree that maybe this-in the long run-is great for women’s sports? Seeing this much money-which is really not that much compared to a male player of the same caliber-is going to draw attention to the sport.
