HC says if they meet that team in bracket play, he will protest every single crow hop until he (the HC) is ejected. HC is already making plans for who will take over if he gets ejected.
One of the expected changes for 2018 is to change the penalty for an IP removing the advancement of the runner. You only do that do one reason, making it more palatable to call. With the fiasco that was the 2017 season I think umpires resent having this monkey on their back.
This has always been the way I would like to see them go first. My theory has always been that the penalty has not matched the infraction (i.e. way harsh) which makes it hard for umpires to call it through a whole game. We will see I guess. 99% of the time they like to pretend this issue doesn't exist and go on to much easier and meaningless discussions.
What a minute. You want to change the rules to benefit the "cheaters"? Why dumb down the game to benefit the few pitchers that break the rules? Illegal pitching mechanics are so easy to fix and it's not a wide spread problem....
Not benefiting the cheaters. Making the penalty ONLY on the pitcher doesn't benefit the cheaters - it should make it easier to call and hurt the cheaters more than is happening now (which is apparently no punishment right now). No idea why 'runners advancing' was ever part of an illegal pitch rule unless it was something that came over in the balk rule from baseball.
