When you were 12 or 14 and you felt your body had enough for the day, and the coach told you to go out for another inning, what would you have done? I'm pretty sure you would put your gear on and get behind the plate because that's what she told you to do, and you didn't want to let her or your teammates down. The kids who are strong enough to push back are unicorns.
Saying that it's up to the kids to stand up to the coaches is absurd. It's up to the adults to take care of the kids, period.
